Goal
Keep yourself and your partner in the game.
Before You Start
- Demonstrate safe tagging:
- Light touch, like a butterfly wings, on the shoulder, upper arm or upper back.
- Unsafe tags: hard contact that might cause the person being tagged to fall.
- Review the play space boundaries, and how to move safely through the space.
Set Up
- Designate a large play area that players can move throughout freely.
- Divide players into pairs, and make sure everyone knows who their partner is.
- Have all players spread out in the playing space.
How to Play
- Everyone is a tagger.
- When a player gets tagged by someone, they take a knee.
- To get back into the game:
- If one partner has been tagged: the player’s partner must come and unfreeze them by giving them a high-5.
- If both partners have been tagged: both players exit the playing area and meet up to complete a double high-5. After the double high-5 players can return to the play space and begin tagging others again.
Variations
- Instead of partners, have groups of three or four on a team.
