The Power of Play
Our vision at Playworks is that every child gets to play every day, and we have two models to help realize that vision.
Playworks’ full-time program is exclusively in low-income schools in urban cities. We are currently in 23 cities around the country. If Playworks is not operating in your city, click here for more information on how to bring us there.
To qualify for a full-time Playworks coach at your school, at least 50 percent of enrollment must be eligible for free and reduced lunches.
For schools that do not meet our low-income requirement or are not located in the cities we serve, we offer programs to help train your adults to bring safe, inclusive play to your school.
How to Bring Playworks to Your School:

With more time at recess and on school playgrounds than any other organization in the country, Playworks is the expert on transforming play and recess into tools to support learning. We work on-site with low-income schools in major urban areas, and provide full training and technical assistance to schools, districts and organizations nationwide that wish to include inclusive, healthy play as part of a positive learning environment.
This FAQ is designed primarily for principals, teachers, parents and others who are affiliated with schools and would like to know more about how Playworks operates within the school environment.
