This game is great as a quick brain break or transition game.

Goal

Touch the color stated with the body part stated by the leader.

Before You Start

  • Establish a speed limit based on your space (speedwalking, firefeet, etc.)
  • Establish the play space: what areas and items are off limits?

Set Up

Make sure the play space is clear of tripping hazards.

How to Play

  • The leader calls out a color and a body part. Ex. “red elbow!” or “yellow knee!”
  • Participants must find something in the playspace that is the same as the color that has been called, and safely move to go touch that thing with the body part that was called.
  • Emphasize that players can touch things in the room, not people or things attached to people (like clothing).

Variations

  • Have students safely mingle around the room between calling out instructions.
  • Make the game a little competitive for older students: the last person to follow the instruction gets a “good job, nice try!”
