We create a place for every kid on the playground to feel included, be active, and build valuable social and emotional skills. We partner with schools, districts, and after-school programs to provide a service or mix of services including on-site coaches, professional training for school staff who support recess, and consultative partnerships.

Here’s where you come in: 

As the Regional Partnerships Manager, you will work to cultivate and secure school partnerships and manage relationships. You will help schools realize the value of play for their students and will build new relationships with potential school and district partners. In addition, you will identify and secure public and private resources to support school partnerships. This position specifically includes a blend of internal people management, relationship cultivation, strategy, and outreach for Playworks services to schools, school districts, community partners, and funders.

This is a full-time, exempt position that reports directly to the Regional Partnerships Director.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Support Playworks’ regional leadership team to create and refine an integrated school partnership strategy for growing Playworks’ services within the region. 
  • Build new relationships with other community organizations, government agencies, and funders as appropriate, as well as representing Playworks at events, conferences, and community gatherings.
  • Serve as a liaison between Playworks and partners who have purchased Playworks services by representing Playworks at trainings, meetings, and consultative visits.   
  • Identify target market segments, establishing impact and financial goals. 
  • In collaboration with the Regional Partnership Director, create campaigns focused on prospecting and developing a strong pipeline of new customers and nurturing relationships with existing customers. 

 

Manage sales contracts process and pipeline in the database.

  • Support data collection for all Pro partners in the region.
  • Coordinate with Playworks trainers, Program team, and Regional Partnership Director to ensure the successful delivery of quality of services and sustainable impact. 
  • Contribute to the building of sales pipeline to increase impact according to plan and in the schools and districts that are of the highest strategic priority. 
  • Support the securement of Northern California Pro revenue Target and manage the pipeline of assigned opportunities
  • Support Program Sales for Direct Services during School Recruitment Season
  • Manage a team of dynamic trainers, which can include part-time trainers and Program Specialists
    • Conduct regular program observations & data reviews to ensure high-quality programming.
    • Perform evaluations of Trainers according to Playworks’ protocol and oversee curriculum implementation during the school year to ensure fulfillment of expectations and responsibilities.
  • Support Regional Partnership Director in stewardship for New District, School, & Out of School Time Partners 
  • Launch, Manage, and Oversee Tag Team & Digital Services Implementation and delivery 
  • Work with California Pro Leadership Team to create new training curriculum for Pro Trainers for monthly department huddles and quarterly retreats
  • Travel regularly across Northern California for Partnerships, Expansion efforts, conferences, learning, & Pro quality visits

Required Skills & Experience

  • Passionate commitment to Playworks’ mission and keen desire to contribute to social impact. 
  • 2+ years of sales experience preferably B2B
  • A minimum of two years experience in management, preferably in non-profit management or a youth development organization.
  • Eagerness to learn and represent a growing brand
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and Cirrus is preferred.  Demonstrated proficiency managing contacts and pipeline in CRM is required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills that facilitate customer cultivation and negotiations.
  • Excellent relationship management, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • This position requires travel to various regional locations. Therefore daily access to reliable transportation is required.
  • Experience with managing long-term partnerships
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data 
  • Initiative, self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Knowledge of youth development principles and practices, especially relating to issues of equity, inclusion, and healthy competition within sports and physical activity
  • Understanding and experience working in a matrix organizational structure
  • Comfort with a playful, exuberant, and mildly irreverent workplace culture

  • This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Regional Partnership Director with an anticipated start date of June 3rd, 2024
  • At Playworks, our starting salary takes into consideration internal pay equity, geographic pay differential, and robust external market data. We highly value transparency and equity within compensation and therefore are committed to adhering to established compensation pay points. The salary for this position is: $73,900 
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401(k) and 3% employer match, employee-funded pre-tax health and child care spending accounts.
  • Generous Flex PTO policy with paid sick and holiday leave.

Service Environment: This position operates in both a school and office environment both indoors and outdoors. The position interacts with children on playgrounds and in classrooms on a daily basis. A significant portion of the interaction with schools may occur virtually.

 

Typical physical and mental demands:

This position requires sufficient physical ability and mobility to stand for extended periods at times; walk on a school site in various weather conditions; to climb stairs at some sites; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach and twist and, dependent on assignment the employee may occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds.
