Playworks 2016 Corporate Kickball was a Ball!

  1. Updates

What is more fun than a day of sunshine, good food, cold beverages, and a kickball tournament? Nothing! We are talking about Playworks’ signature event: the Corporate Kickball Tournament.

Playworks regions across the country each host this annual event and Playworks Wisconsin is no exception. This year, eight teams representing some of the area’s best and brightest corporate go-getters competed for the annual title of Playworks Kickball Champions.

June 24 was a beautiful dayone of those Wisconsin summer days we dream about all winter long. Plenty of sunshine, a cool breeze, green grass, and lots of fun. Teams from Children’s Hospital, Chicago Title, One America, Baird, Aurora, Belair Cantina, and Kohl’s all competed, but WaterStone Bank defended the title and were presented the trophy for the second year running.

Teams played hard and are were thankful for the support we receive from MUSA (Midwestern Unconventional Sports Association) for serving as our game pitchers and bringing the tunes. This is the third year that MUSA has helped us out and we are eternally grateful for their contribution.

New this year! Belair Cantina hosted a nacho/taco bar for our guests and it was amazing! Belair Cantina has been tremendously generous to Playworks in the short time that we have partnered with them: they sponsored a team, provided lunch, and are creating a custom taco just for us to be featured on their new menu this fall. That’s right, as of October, we will be Powered by Tacos courtesy of Belair Cantina! Yet to be named, watch for updates on Playworks' taco creation!

The Wicked Hop has been a perennial sponsor of our event and we are grateful for their contribution this year as well. Miles O’Neill and the cool kids at the Hop brewed up some super tasty sangria and served cold Miller Lite for our athletes. Thanks for making our event a hit!

In all, we raised over $20,000 to support our operations to bring safe and healthy play to 10,200 kids every day. Thank you and see you next year!
