Playworks Partners with Milwaukee Bucks and Pick ‘n Save for NBA Fit Week

  1. Updates

Playworks was excited to partner with the Milwaukee Bucks and Pick ‘n Save to encourage kids to stay fit and eat healthy during NBA Fit Week (Jan. 21-29).

Bucks players Michael Carter-Williams, Tyler Ennis, Miles Plumlee, and Rashad Vaughn, along with team legend Sidney Moncrief, promoted health and fitness at two Playworks schools: Brown Street Academy and Hartford University School.

“I think I was excited as the kids,” said Playworks Board Chair, Jim Ystesund. “We all know kids look up to professional athletes, and I think the Bucks players had an impact on how the kids in our Playworks schools look at fitness and nutrition,” Ystesund added.

The students also enjoyed showing off their recess skills and engaged the players in some games, including foursquare. The week also included a classroom challenge, and the winning class won tickets to a Bucks game at the end of the week.

We are grateful for future opportunities to engage Bucks legends, like Sidney Moncrief, who recently visited Playworks Junior Coaches at Siefert and Hopkins Lloyds Elementary Schools.
