Martin Luther King Junior Day Service Project

  1. Updates

On Monday, January 17, members of the Playworks Minnesota team participated in a service day project in partnership with Fraser Group. Fraser Group is Minnesota’s largest provider of autism services. Fraser Group also provides services for mental health and other developmental disabilities for children and adults with special needs through healthcare, education, and housing.

Our members had fun assembling lap buddies for young Fraser clients in their day treatment and pediatric therapy programs. The bottles are unique and fun toys that bring joy to Fraser clients and are also commonly used in learning and therapy settings. Lap buddies are used by staff to teach colors and counting, and they ease their clients’ anxieties.

Special thanks to our AmeriCorps Coach Chloe Czaplewski for organizing the event!
