Announcing our February Coach of the Month

  1. Updates

Our February Coach of the Month is . . . Coach Casey! Coach Casey is a first-year AmeriCorps program coordinator at Swansea Elementary School in Denver, who is committed to serving her school community as well as the Playworks community. Outside of being an AmeriCorps member with Playworks, Coach Casey is also a dance instructor. Dancing is a skill that has come in handy for Coach Casey during the month of February.

During the month of February, Coach Casey used her dance skills to help create our AmeriCorps music video. She worked on her own time to choreograph the dance moves and write a song parody with other AmeriCorps members. While teaching the choreography to other members, Casey’s energy was infectious. During the practices and video shoot, everyone was engaged and committed to making the best video and it was because of her energy.

Casey not only brought positive energy to the filming of the AmeriCorps video, but she also brings that same energy to her playground every day. Her students are safely playing during every recess and at the end, every student is engaged in cheers and cool-downs. She has mastered transitions to set every child up for success in the classroom. Students are ready to go back inside and learn because of the amazing time that they had with Coach Casey.

Through her dedication and energy, Coach Casey has also shown that she is committed to the Playworks movement. With her positive attitude and ability to break out into dance at the drop of a hat, we are confident that Coach Casey will continue to be an amazing role model for her students, school community, and Playworks.

Thank you, Coach Casey, for bringing safe and healthy play to Swansea Elementary every day. Woosh clap!
