Playworks Soiree for Play Event Playback

  1. Updates

The Playworks Soiree for Play in 2024 was our most successful fundraiser.

On Thursday, April 11, Playworks supporters, Board Members, Junior Coaches and families, staff, and partners came together for our annual fundraiser where sneakers are required. The event was held for the second year at Empower Field at Mile High transporting guests from the dinner table to the playground. Together, we reached our fundraising goal of $100,000 by learning, celebrating, and investing in the power of play. All funds raised support Playworks programs in elementary schools in Colorado by providing on-site coaching, professional training for school staff, consultation visits and digital resources; partnerships can be found here.

Guests learned first hand how play works from Junior Coaches in our school communities. Junior Coaches, Roxanna, Dylan, and Jailyn, and Arturo, representing Colfax Elementary School and Highline Academy, led games and shared their experiences as Junior Coaches, highlighting how the program has helped them make new friends, gain confidence, and help others.

Highlights of the event included:
  • A playful cocktail hour featuring a robust silent auction, Giant Jenga, Cornhole and open bar.
  • Exciting games led by Junior Coach Roxanna that had us all on our feet and laughing together; games included Bling Bling Cha-Ching, and Level Up. If you are interested in how to play, visit the Playworks game guide.
  • Inspiring speeches from our Junior Coaches, sharing how being a Junior Coach empowers them.
  • A delicious dinner and drinks bringing us together.
  • Surpassing our fundraising goal, thanks to your incredible support!

We are grateful for the turnout and collective investment that made the Soiree for Play a success. Contributions made will make a significant impact on our ability to continue the level of quality impact for over 45 school partners in Colorado. Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and made the evening playful.

“It’s about believing in yourself and knowing that you can make a difference, and guess what? Being a Junior Coach at Playworks has helped me feel empowered in so many ways.”

–Jailyn, Junior Coach at Colfax Elementary

See all the fun for yourself.
