Ms. Marquardt, Educator of the Month

  1. Updates

Congratulations to Pam Marquardt, this month’s Playworks Educator of the Month. Ms. Marquardt is a kindergarten teacher at Siefert Elementary where she encourages kids to get in the game.

Ms. Marquardt is a great Playworks supporter. She participates in every Class Game Time with her students and always plays at recess. Her assigned duty ends before recess, but she always stays until recess is over, and she has even come outside a few times when she did not have duty just because she wanted to run around with the kids.

Ms. Marquardt does a great job encouraging the students to engage in healthy play. During indoor recess, she leads four-square to make sure students play the right way. She encourages them to use ro-sham-bo (also known as rock, paper, scissors) to resolve conflict and gives out high fives left and right. She also does a fantastic job making sure that all kids, not just her students, get a chance to play. When a class missed their opportunity in the gym for indoor recess she went to the classroom and led games for them.

We are so fortunate to have Ms. Marquardt on our team, advocating for play everyday!
