Melani Smith, Playworks’ Encore Gen2Gen Fellow, has pledged to serve 1,000 hours with the Southern California team over the course of this year. Currently, Melani is studying the role that school recess staff plays in the Playworks’ school partnership model, and how the role can be supported and strengthened in the long-termwhatever role Playworks plays on the campus. When she’s not at Playworks, she enjoys teaching, gardening, and experiencing all that Los Angeles has to offer.
