Playworks Southern California is excited to welcome our new coaches and kick off the 2012-2013 school year!
This is our biggest group ever with 27 coaches serving 25 schools (that's right, 25!) throughout Los Angeles and Orange County. We had a great week of pre-service training at Mattel headquarters, where coaches and staff engaged in a series of intensive trainings, workshops, and of course, play! Much of our training was focused on quality curriculum building for class game time, conflict resolution, and group management to prepare our team for a strong year.
A special thanks to Mattel, who offered their resources and staff support to make our pre-service a huge success. Among other things, we had the opportunity to participate in a pasta-making session and kitchen tour with Chef Dylan, the executive chef of Mattel. Our coaches could not stop raving about the experience.
After a full week of training and team building, we are now ready to bring an environment of healthy play and create change throughout Southern California!
