Building Upwards

  1. Updates

Playworks Durham is building upwards…literally as they participated in roofing for a Habitat for Humanity of Durham build when our AmeriCorps members,  along with the office staff and other program coordinators, completed their first service project.

From 8:30 in the morning until 2:30 pm Playworks Durham was roofing, caulking, weathering, hammering, nail gunning and so much more to help make the dream of homeownership a reality.

“Working with Habitat for Humanity was an awesome opportunity for us to give back to our own community,” said AmeriCorps Program Coordinator Crystal Massenburg.  “We were able to bond and help a family in need at the same time.  Learning how to build a roof was super exciting and a new opportunity for us all.”

Are you interested in giving back to the community? Come volunteer with Playworks Durham. We have multiple opportunities with flexible hours including, day, night and weekends. Click here for more information.
