Healthy Mile Trail of Durham

  1. Updates

We're blazing a lot of new trails in Durham, and not just on the playgrounds. The office staff of Playworks Durham assisted in the painting of the first Healthy Mile Trail of Durham in conjunction with the Partnership for a Healthy Durham. The staff cut down branches, swept sidewalks, weeded the area along the trail, and helped paint markings to guide walkers and runners.

There will be an inaugural walk of the trail on Saturday September 8, 2012 at 9:30am beginning at the Lincoln Community Health Center on Fayetteville Street. Come join Playworks Durham and the community for fun and health. Snacks and water will be served following the walk. This is the first of nine expected 1-mile trails that will be made available to the residents of Durham by 2015.
