Corporate Group Volunteers

Individual Volunteers

Help kids in your community discover their best selves by volunteering in our partner schools. As a volunteer, you’ll be trained and supported to be a consistent, caring adult in young students’ lives.

 

Opportunities for Individuals

Assistant Playground Coach

What you’ll do:

  • Be a play ambassador at recess
  • Model games for kids and play actively
  • Learn to create a safe and welcoming environment through play

What it takes:

  • Commitment. You are able to volunteer at least one day a month for one school year.
  • Energy. We’re looking for individuals who are ready to play hard with high-energy elementary students.
  • Passion. You care about making a meaningful difference in kids’ lives.
Special Events Volunteer

What you’ll do:

  • Plan, promote, and execute school partner or community engagement events
  • Help with logistical, “day of” tasks like setting up and breaking down equipment, or running registration
  • Engage local businesses and organizations to support events

What it takes:

  • Commitment.  You are available to help on the day of event. Based on your availability, there are opportunities to support on weekday evenings and weekends. 
  • Passion. You believe in the value of bringing communities together through play and are ready to make an impact in your local schools.
Virtual Administrative Volunteer

What you’ll do:

  • Research new funding opportunities
  • Data entry for youth leader survey responses
  • Help with grant writing in partnership with staff

What it takes:

  • Attention to detail. You are comfortable with basic data entry.
  • Communication. You have an interest or background in writing.
  • Volunteers will also need access to a computer and internet connection.
Outreach Volunteer

What you’ll do:

  • Visit schools and youth-serving organizations to share resources
  • Help with relationship follow-ups, such as sending thank-you notes or emails
  • Support tabling events in the community

What it takes:

  • Passion. You believe in the value of bringing communities together through play and are ready to make an impact in your local schools.
  • Commitment. You are able to volunteer at least one day a month for one school year.
  • Confidence. You’re comfortable starting conversations and building relationships with new audiences.
  • Engagement. You’re able to join an in-person school visit to experience Playworks in action.
Youth Leadership Partner

What you’ll do:

  • Assist Playworks Coach with Junior Coach Leadership Program curriculum
  • Help keep youth leaders focused, on task, and engaged during activities
  • Learn to develop leadership skills through play

What it takes:

  • Energy. You are ready to engage with high-energy elementary students and bring outstanding high-five skills.
  • Commitment. You are able to volunteer at a school site at least one day a month for one school year (frequency varies based on individual schools).
  • Engagement. You are comfortable providing positive coaching, redirection, and encouragement for 4th and 5th grade leaders with support from Playworks staff.
