A new school year means a fresh start and we’re here to help you make recess a great one!
This October, Playworks New England is launching a week-long virtual program designed to help schools and youth-facing organizations reset, refresh, and strengthen their recess and playtime plans.
From October 26–30, join the Recess Professionals for a week full of practical strategies, fun games, targeted support, and easy-to-use tools that can make a big difference on the playground—all without reinventing the wheel.
🎉 What’s in Store?
Throughout the week, participants will have opportunities to:
- Learn easy, sustainable recess strategies you can put into practice right away.
- Discover new games and activities that get students moving, playing, and connecting.
- Build concrete systems for creating a safer, more inclusive, and more engaging recess.
- Ask questions and get support during virtual office hours with Recess Professionals.
- Connect and engage with other educators through our Playworks community.
The content is recommended for PreK–6th grade, with some games and strategies appropriate for 7th–8th grade.
💡 You Don’t Need to Start From Scratch
A great recess doesn’t have to mean creating an entirely new system. Sometimes, the best way forward is to reset what you already have, make a few simple adjustments, and give your staff the tools and confidence to keep it going.
Whether your recess needs a complete refresh or just a few new ideas, this week is designed to give you practical, realistic strategies that can last beyond the school year kickoff.
📅 Save the Date: October 26–30
The program will include virtual one-hour Zoom training, virtual office hours, and social media engagement —giving you multiple ways to learn, connect, and get support throughout the week.
