Ms. Reynolds-Lupo (Ms. RL) is a champion of safe, healthy play. As a physical education teacher and coach at Russell Elementary School in Dorchester, Ms. RL provides valuable support in getting students recess-ready. She integrates Playworks’ techniques into her day-to-day, including practicing transition strategies at recess and encouraging older students to teach and facilitate their favorite games. Ms. RL works closely with her site coordinator, Coach Gianna, to run Class Game Time and promote a positive and caring culture among students.

Ms. RL is also actively involved in the community outside of school, serving as an education director at Dorchester Youth Collaborative and as a head coach on the Boston United Track Team. Many participants in these community organizations are current and former students of Russell Elementary School. Ms. RL constantly looks for new ways to encourage students to make healthy choices and get them involved in camps, programs, and after-school sports.

Playworks is fortunate to have a caring, consistent role model like Ms. RL at one of our partner schools. According to Coach Gianna, Ms. RL “deserves MVP every month!”

We are confident that Ms. RL will continue to make excellent happen at the Russell and in her local community.
