Social Boston Sports Announces a Partnership with Playworks Massachusetts

  1. Updates

Social Boston Sports (SBS) is an incredible organization that has been working to encourage young professionals to stay physically active outside of work for nine years in the greater Boston area. Social Boston Sports, like Playworks, uses play as a medium for people to have fun. We are excited to announce our partnership to give young professionals the opportunity to give back to the community through Playworks and our work with students.

Over the course of the year, Playworks and Social Boston Sports will partner in a various amount of ways. Social Boston Sports will offer volunteer opportunities to their networks of SBS members to help Playworks continue to implement programming in Boston Public Schools. For example, Playworks had several volunteers commit to serving as referees during our Girl's Basketball League. They were referees one night a week, volunteering for two hours. These volunteers served a critical role in making sure all girls had a fun, enjoyable, and safe basketball game.

Additionally, Playworks and Social Boston Sports are looking forward to partner and host events throughout the spring and summer months. Be on the look out for the Playworks Run for Recess, the Corporate Kickball Tournament, and the Back to School, Back to Recess Celebration. We are excited to begin our partnership with Social Boston Sports and look forward to spreading the power of play to all!

About Social Boston Sports

Social Boston Sports (SBS) was created in January 2007 by four young professionals with the goal of keeping the fun we had in college alive after college. Today, SBS is a rapidly growing community of SBS-ers who love to have fun and live life to the fullest! Specifically, SBS provides our community members, aka SBS-ers, with an organized way to get involved in coed recreational sports leagues, events, and adventure trips throughout Boston.

SBS Mission: To be the #1 destination for fun in Boston for young professionals where SBS-ers can come together to meet new people, have more fun, and live life to the fullest through the best experiences possible.

The SBS Manifesto: Make time for life. Life is having fun with friends and enjoying the journey. Life is too short not to have fun every day. Choose to live. Go on that trip you've dreamed of. Try. Fail. Learn. Succeed. Share amazing experiences with new friends and old and lead a fulfilling life. Have more fun.
