Coach Caitlin Makes Excellent Happen

  1. Updates

Coach Caitlin is a first year AmeriCorps Program Coordinator at UP Academy Dorchester. Coach Caitlin shows immense passion for making a difference in the community and for the students at her school. She never turns down a challenge and is always looking to do more with her students. Coach Caitlin is a great problem-solver and is self-driven, creating wonderful relationships with students and staff at her school. She is a critical part of ensuring that all students are able to learn, lead, and thrive both in and out of school.

During the month of December, Coach Caitlin went above and beyond to ensure that volunteers from Fidelity Investments were able to serve at her school. A group of volunteers come to recess every other month and Caitlin always makes volunteers feel welcomed and supported during their time at the school. She ensures that all students acknowledge the volunteers with a high-five, and students are eager to invite the volunteers to play games alongside of them. Additionally, Junior Coaches from Coach Caitlin’s school are participating in leadership program with Fidelity volunteers. This includes several field trips to Fidelity’s office in downtown Boston, where Junior Coaches engage in lessons led by Fidelity volunteers about leadership, communication, and collaboration. Coach Caitlin always does a great job organizing these field trips and makes sure all students are having fun.

Coach Caitlin continues to make excellent happen by building incredible relationships with the staff and administration at UP Academy Dorchester. She played a critical role in helping secure the gymnasium at the school for our after-school girls' basketball league on Tuesday nights during the winter months. Coach Caitlin is extremely proactive and has a positive attitude in any situation, lending a helping hand to anyone in need. She is dedicated to making excellent happen in the Playworks Massachusetts community. We are excited to see what the future holds for Coach Caitlin.
