Meet Playworks Illinois

Founded in 1996, Playworks expanded to Illinois in 2011. Playworks is dedicated to developing students’ essential life skills, expanding the capacity of adults who support youth, and partnering with schools, districts, and community organizations to cultivate joyful and engaged communities.

Through evidence-based programs, including professional training, consultative support, digital tools, and on-site coaches, Playworks builds safe, active play environments for Illinois kids.

Our programs increase access to high-quality recess and play-based physical activity while also supporting leadership development, conflict resolution, and a sense of belonging—all critical components of children’s overall health and well-being.
