December Coach of the Month

  1. Updates

Our December Coach of the Month is . . . Coach Joey! Coach Joey is a first-year AmeriCorps program coordinator here in Denver, CO and for the first semester was our AmeriCorps flex member. Coach Joey has fully embraced the flex role and has learned so many amazing skills. He has stepped into a new position at one of our new schools for the remainder of the school year.

Coach Joey stepped up to help train new coaches in December. During our mid-year preservice, Coach Joey helped facilitate a full day of training for our new AmeriCorps members. He helped add valuable information and content to multiple trainings and ran a Class Game Time demonstration to ensure that our new hires felt comfortable and ready to go on their first day. In addition to facilitating trainings for new hires, Coach Joey also launched a new partnership. Because of the knowledge he gained while working as a flex, he was able to step into this new school and transform their recess with ease.

Through his dedication and desire to learn new things every day, Coach Joey has shown that he is committed to the Playworks Colorado movement. If you ever have the chance to participate in one of his cheers your mood will be instantly uplifted. His personality is infectious and work ethic is admirable.

Thank you Coach Joey for bringing safe and healthy play to schools across Colorado every day!
