March Junior Coach of the Month

  1. Updates

Roselyn is a Junior Coach at Maie Bartlett Heard School in Phoenix, AZ and has done so much to become the best coach she can be. Junior Coach Roselyn started out as a quiet student who communicated through her friends and usually had very little to say. Roselyn was very embarrassed to speak out loud because other kids had made fun of her speech.

Today Junior Coach Roselyn has become a new person and embodies what it means to be a Junior Coach. In class she volunteers to read as many things as possible and she has become a constant ray of sunshine in all situations. She has helped some of her friends who were fighting by teaching them or reminding them of Playworks’ methods in class for how to solve a conflict.

Roselyn has become a huge advocate for getting the kids at recess to transition more quickly. She has done this by collecting any ball still in play and speaking assertively to inform the students it is time to get to class. Roselyn will take this action upon herself no matter what day it is. If she is working, she does it and even if she isn’t working, she will still take action.

Junior Coach Roselyn has found her voice through Playworks and has learned to take each lesson, whether it’s from Class Game Time or the Junior Coach Leadership Program trainings, and apply it to her recess shifts and everyday life situations.

A major strong clap to Roselyn for helping Playworks #EnergizeAZ!
