Bringing Play to the Kids of Sunshine Foundation

  1. Updates

AmeriCorps coaches organized a Play Day for Sunshine Kids, a non-profit organization committed in providing various activities for children battling cancer. The day began with the Sunshine Kids and their families participating in an afternoon filled with activities led by more than two dozen AmeriCops members and volunteers at Bennett Kew Elementary in Inglewood. Organized activities ranged from bracelet making, tie dye, relay races, balloon toss, and lots more! From across the year playground, you could see the children, families and coaches engaged and filled with smiles.

At the close of the day, an AmeriCorps coach, wrote and performed a song dedicated to the children and their families. By the middle of the song, everyone was singing the chorus. In addition, every child was given a "Be Kind, Step Up" bracelet, which symbolized the power of healing and kindness.
