Angelique Throws Kindness Around (like confetti)

Angelique has been a cheerful student at Bayard Taylor Elementary School since she was in Kindergarten. Last year, with the encouragement from her friends and family, she became a Playworks Junior Coach at her school.

Once a month, Angelique and a few of her classmates go to the neighborhood food bank to help people who are less fortunate in the community. She explained that she believes people should “throw kindness around like confetti” all over her school and in the community. “Helping other people makes me feel happy. That’s why I joined Junior Coach to be a leader that is nice to people and can help other kids with any problems.”

Since joining the program, Angelique has become more confident, outgoing and continues to be a positive leader in her school community. Now a role model, she exemplifies the power of compassion and the importance of leadership.

Together, we can empower more students like Junior Coach Angelique to take on leadership roles in their community.
