On November 4th, 2014 Playworks will be presenting Powerful Play: How Recess Can Improve School Climate at the Equity~Opportunity~Engagement Fall PBIS Conference in Seattle, WA from 1:15 pm to 3 pm.

Play is the most universally accessible recreational skill for children yet very often times of play can become times of conflict and negativity. It is essential for adults to establish a safe environment where children can take full advantage of the social, emotional and cognitive benefits provided by play. This workshop will demonstrate techniques for positive play, group management, self-regulated conflict resolution and inclusive activities. We will also discuss how a PBIS school saw immediate results after implementing the a Playworks recess. In this session, participants will learn the same way kids do: by playing games! Be sure to wear clothes you can move in and comfortable shoes. Water bottles are recommended. Join us and have some fun!
