Jill Vialet visits Portland and reads Recess Rules

  1. Updates

Playworks Pacific Northwest had the pleasure of supporting and hosting a special book event in the Alberta Art District. Founder and CEO, Jill Vialet read excerpts from her new book titled “Recess Rules” at Green Bean Books. The chapter book tells the story of four friends who take back recess with the help of Clarence, an “angel on probation,” while proving to the superintendent that recess is important. Supporters, kids and parents gathered around to hear Jill tell her story of play in a cozy outside reading area. The reading was followed by a short question and answer session and a book signing by Jill.

If you missed your chance to hear from Jill, you have the opportunity to discuss the book with her online! Students from around the country, and other Playworks supporters are invited to an Online Book Club to be held on Thursday, March 20th at 1:00pm and 3:00pm on Google Hangouts. Junior Coach student leaders share their expereinces from reading the book and Jill answers questions from YOU! Join us! www.playworks.org/recessrules

All proceeds from the book sales go to Playworks.
