Playworks Portland Kicks it Corporate Style

  1. Updates

Under bright blue skies, ten teams from local companies and organizations converged on the ball fields of the Tualatin Hills Athletic Center at PCC Rock Creek campus for an afternoon of nostalgia and old school fun. The event help support bring play and physical activity for 6,000 kids in the Portland-metro area’s low-income schools.

Employees from Nike, the Portland Trail Blazers, University of Portland Pilots, Symantec, Columbia Sportswear, Interworks LLC, Kaiser Permanente, Kohl's, the Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel, and Portland Public Schools Principals (sponsored by Knowledge Universe), donned their tube socks, laced up their sneakers and engaged in an old-fashioned game of kickball for the 2nd Annual Corporate Kickball Tournament for Playworks Portland. The “round-robin” style tournament drew 135 employees and volunteers for some friendly competition, networking and team-building but at the end of the day, team Kicking Blazers (Portland Trail Blazers team) took the coveted golden trophy and bragging rights until next year's tournament.

In case you missed it on tv here's a quick clip of the event from Fox 12 Oregon.
