The Power of Play in Portland (Video)

  1. Updates

All day Monday, November 23rd, Channel 2 KATU dedicated the day covering the "Power of Play" in the Portland community. KATU, an ABC affiliate, covered topics including: the effects of video games on children, the return of "old school" toys and games, and recess issues at school. Playworks was highlighted in the recess at schools segment.

A two-part special report highlighted the effectiveness of Playworks after only four days at Sacramento Elementary, a Northeast Portland school. KATU captured video footage and testimony from students, staff and teachers about recess issues on their campus one week before Playworks was at their school. The following week, after four days of organized recess and engaging Class Game Times, KATU returned to see and hear the results.
