Foundation Support Thanks to Community Call for Action

  1. Updates

Playworks East Bay has received a grant from Chamberlin Family Foundation through the Foundation’s first ever community nominated grantmaking process.

The Chamberlin Family Foundation focuses its grantmaking in public schools, teachers & leaders, and community advocacy to help every student in West Contra Costa have access to an excellent education.

For the first time, the Foundation decided to extend their grantmaking reach to include organizations nominated by community members. The West Contra Costa community helped identify high-impact organizations that aligned with the Foundation’s mission to support people and ideas that make a difference. Over 70 nomination submissions were received from people across West County with the Foundation choosing 28 organization to receive collectively over $150,000. We are truly honored to be one of those 28 organizations.

Playworks East Bay is active throughout West Contra Costa Unified School District, serving 32 schools and over 16,000 youth. We have been present in the community for over 15 years and are grateful for being recognized in this way. More than anything, we look forward to continuing our service in West Contra Costa.
