  1. Updates

Thank You!

A big thanks to everyone who came out to play with us at our 10th Annual Playworks Get in the Game Gala. It was a wonderful evening thanks to all of the amazing supporters who helped to make our fundraising efforts a success.

Special thanks to this year’s host Andrew East, former Oakland Raider, who continues to show his dedication and commitment to the community through his involvement with organizations like Playworks.

The focus of the evening was an honorary commencement ceremony as Playworks recognized the hard work of our partners and staff members during the past school year.

Our Rookie of the Year award honored three outstanding Playworks AmeriCorps Coaches. Congratulations to rookies Michael Skarzynske of Willow Oaks Elementary in Menlo Park, Matthew Bailey of Bayview Elementary in San Pablo, and Emily Newman of John Muir Elementary in San Francisco.

Our Most Valued Principal award honored school leaders who make play a priority. Congratulations to MVPs Alicia Aleman of Longfellow Elementary School in San Francisco, Armando Torres of Bayview Elementary School in San Pablo, and Anita Lee of Cherry Chase in Sunnyvale.

The funds raised at the Get in the Game Gala will be used to bring out the best in more students and schools through the power of play. These contributions will move us closer to our aim of safe and healthy play for 3.5 million children in 7,000 elementary schools by December 2020.
