Steph Curry Surprises Playworks Students at Get Fit Event

  1. Updates

Emeryville, CAJanuary 22, 2018Golden State Warriors MVP Steph Curry surprised Anna Yates Elementary students on the playground for a Get Fit event today.

Get Fit is a collaborative initiative with the Golden State Warriors, Playworks, and Kaiser Permanente to educate Bay Area youth on the importance of healthy eating and active living. During Get Fit events, students in Playworks partner schools take a “time-out” to learn about healthy behavior—and of course, play!

Curry jumped right in the action. He led yoga exercises, ran basketball drills, and even hopped on the field to play a collaborative Playworks game, “Hoop to Hoop.”

Curry also talked with students about the event’s theme: mindfulness. He stressed the importance of being present in the moment.

Playworks is thrilled to continue collaborating with the Golden State Warriors and Kaiser Permanente to improve kids’ physical, social, and emotional well-being.
