Virgin Sport Partners with Playworks

  1. Updates

On May 18, 2017, Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Sport CEO Mary Wittenberg announced the launch of Virgin Sport's US operations. Playworks joined the celebration as Virgin Sport's local Give Back partner.

During the event, participants ran, pedaled, and stretched while discussing Virgin Sport's vision to get people moving. Playworks President Elizabeth Cushing took to the stage and announced Playworks' new partnership with Virgin Sport.

"We feel like we can teach a lot of life skills through play," said Cushing. "Virgin is all about sport for good, so we feel like we're good partners."

Virgin Sport's first U.S. event will take place in San Francisco in October. Festivities start Friday, October 13 and end with the Virgin Sport SF Half Marathon on Sunday, October 15. Proceeds from the marathon will be donated to Playworks San Francisco.
