2013 Game Changer Awards: Call for Nominations

The Get in the Game Luncheon is the premier annual fundraising event for Playworks Detroit. Those receiving awards will be recognized as “Game Changers” for instrumental efforts made to directly or indirectly improve the health and wellbeing of Detroit area children as identified by Playworks core values – healthy community, healthy play, inclusion and respect. The 2013 event will be held on March 27th at Ford Field.

Award Criteria

Playworks Detroit recognizes Game Changer awardees in the following categories:

  • Respect
  • Healthy Play
  • Inclusion
  • Healthy Community
  • Community Service

A qualified candidate for a 2013 Game Changer Award will:

  • Have made efforts to directly or indirectly improve the health and wellbeing of Detroit area children.
  • Demonstrate Playworks core values of healthy community, healthy play, inclusion and respect.
  • Possess the kind of stature that will draw an audience to the event and attention to the issues facing students who attend schools in low income communities.
  • Be able to attend the Get In the Game Luncheon in March 2013.

Nominations

Nominees may be individuals, corporations, organizations, community groups or initiatives. Please tell us in 200 words or less why your nominee should receive a Game Changer Award. Please include details of how their accomplishments fit into the Game Changer Award categories, while directly or indirectly improving the health and well being of children in the Metro-Detroit area.

 

Recipient Selection 

Nominations will be reviewed by the Playworks Detroit Staff. Final selection will be made by Playworks Detroit board if directors. Persons nominating candidates will receive a formal acknowledgement as well as an announcement of the 2013 Game Change Award nominees. Nominators may call Playworks Detroit at 313-879-4934 with questions.

Playworks Detroit is committed to selecting award recipients, who represent the racial, cultural, professional, economic and age diversity of the metropolitan Detroit community.
