Playworks Indiana’s April Teacher of the Month

  1. Updates

Playworks Indiana recognizes Josephine Manns, Kindergarten Teacher at Ignite Academy, as its April Teacher of the Month.

Mrs. Manns has always been open to learning new games in her class and she makes a point to utilize Site Coordinator Dwanesha Wilson anytime she can to teach new games to her scholars. Mrs. Manns does an amazing job showcasing Playworks’ core value of healthy community by having a positive attitude and fostering a safe learning environment for scholars to be successful on the playground and in the classroom.

What is your favorite recess game?

I enjoy playing fourquare with our scholars because everyone gets a turn and it’s a fun coordination game. My scholars also really enjoy the walking through the forest game because they get to use their imagination and the various movements incorporate total body movement!

Why do you value having a partnership with Playworks at your school?

For Ignite Academy, having Site Coordinator Dwanesha Wilson available as a resource has been a great value of the Playworks partnership. She has done a fantastic job getting the teachers involved and presenting new ways to keep our students engaged throughout the school day. It’s so much fun and a great brain break for everyone!

High Five Mrs. Manns!
