As I was walking through the school after recess, a parent walked up to me and asked me if I was the coach. I said yes. She went on to tell me about how Playworks has had a positive impact on her child. She shared that her son sometimes has trouble managing his emotions. But one night she noticed while he was working, he started doing some type of countdown method when he became frustrated. When she asked him about it, he shared he learned it from Coach Jubee because at the end of each recess, they blow out three candles to calm down to get ready to return to class. Mom thanked me for helping him learn different ways to cope with his emotions, and that she was so impressed he did it on his own.
