Playworks Named 2018 Top-Rated Nonprofit

Playworks is proud to receive the 2018 Top-Rated Award by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations.

“Playworks is a great example of a nonprofit making a real difference in their community,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits. “Their award is well-deserved recognition not only of their work, but the tremendous support they receive, as shown by the many outstanding reviews they have received from people who have direct experience working with Playworks.”

Playworks received the Top-Rated Nonprofit award based on the large number of positive reviews written by our schools, supporters, and parents. Here are a few examples:

I was drawn to the organization by their simple, but powerful mission: ensure that every kid engages in healthy play. The ‘powerful’ part is self-evident the moment you step on to a school playground during a Playworks recess. These kids are all involved, all at play, resolving conflict among themselves. There is inclusion, organized play, laughter, and energy. But the real magic comes when they return to the classroom ready to learn. When they become junior coaches, or go on to high school with confidence and leadership skills. Every kid not only deserves, but needs to play. It’s literally life-changing.” — Joni W., Board Member

“Playworks helped to create a dynamic culture change at recess and throughout the school day over the course of our three year partnership. As principal of the school, I saw a large reduction in behavior referrals from recess and lunch. More importantly, I saw students take the problem solving skills they learned during play and transfer them to situations throughout the school from interpersonal conflict to academic groups.” — Adam P.S., Client

Thank you to everyone whose support made this recognition possible.
