Junior Coach of the Month

  1. Updates

We are happy to announce that our Junior Coach of the Month is the amazing Dahlia of Loma Linda Elementary.

Word had spread around Loma Linda that there was a fourth-grade girl who was an amazingly talented soccer player. When Dahlia was asked to be a Junior Coach she was unsure, but her site-coordinator was persistent, as she had heard such positive things about her.

Dahlia is well known amongst her peers, as well as the entire Loma Linda community, yet she is as humble as they come. She is extremely active and has a competitive edge, but is also a great sport no matter what the outcome may be. She wears a smile on her face at all times and can easily make her friends laugh. Kids seem to gravitate towards Dahlia.

Dahlia even had the opportunity to eat lunch with the Playworks office staff and a few guests to share a little bit about the life of a Junior Coach. Dahlia was incredibly professional and poised throughout the conversation.

When it comes to her Junior Coach duties, Dahlia has hit it out of the park. She is always on time to recess duty and knows exactly what she needs to set up each station. Dahlia makes sure each kid is playing safely, and helps resolve conflicts so no one is ever left out when she is around. She not only helps kids play the game, but she jumps in and plays with them. When you watch her on the soccer field during any of the primary recess, you will hear kids cheering her name in awe of her skills.

Dahlia is a natural-born leader who modeled Playworks’ core values before she put her Junior Coach shirt on.
