February Superhero of the Month

  1. Updates

Coach Heather is a 4th year Playworks Coach at Children First Academy of Phoenix. Although she is a 4th year coach, she has served as a Playworks Coach at five schools and three Playworks cities!

This year, she has been an amazing asset to Children First Academy, a brand new partnership, jumping in head first to make the school a safe, fun,and cohesive environment. Coach Heather has a true passion for what she does and it definitely shows when you walk into her school!

Heading to her office, you will see floating heads of her, Jordan (the recess aid/afterschool program lead) and the P.E. teacher on the side of her door. This year, Coach Heather worked side-by-side with Jordan and taught him how to facilitate games and transitions. She also taught Jordan how to promote Playworks tools and resources.

Coach Heather has built solid rapport with ALL students at Children First. She knows them each by name and the name of their siblings. She always has a smile on her face while talking to the students and has become a great role model to every one of them.

This semester, Coach Heather created a Running Club with her JCs and is organizing the school’s 1st Fun Run.  She has challenged her teachers to get into the squat challenge.

You can always find her and her spiky hair walking the halls, laughing and fooling around! A huge Superhero Clap to Coach Heather for helping to #EnergizeAZ!
