Coach Mercs had pretty big shoes to fill following Coach Povey. Before she moved, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.playworks.org\/communities\/utah\/news\/march-corps-member-coach-povey\/2016\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coach Povey was an all-star<\/a> at James E Moss Elementary. However, Coach Mercs has risen to the occasion by\u00a0putting her own spin on programming at Moss while maintaining positive relationships with kids and teachers alike. New to Playworks this year, Coach Mercs came to us as a veteran of\u00a0the Sugar House\u00a0Boys and Girls Club. Her passion for play is evident in her high-energy\u00a0program and dedication to safe and healthy play. Here are a couple fun\u00a0facts about her:<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your favorite sport?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Softball<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your favorite snack\/treat?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Edamame\/Skittles<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tell us two fun facts about yourself.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I was born in the\u00a0Dominican Republic and I want to be a backup dancer for Beyonce.<\/p>\n<p><b>What elementary school did you go to?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Midvalley (Yep, that&#8217;s right, a Playworks school.)<\/p>\n<p><b>Why did you choose Playworks?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>I have chosen to work with Playworks because, when I was growing up in New Jersey, I didn&#8217;t have the opportunity to experience recess. After all of those years, I have seen the effects of it.
