El Segundo, CA – September 12, 2016<\/strong> – <\/span>The 6th Annual Playworks Corporate Kickball Tournament will take place at Raytheon, 2000 E El Segundo Blvd., El Segundo, CA 90245 on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. Companies participating in the event will help support Playworks Southern California in bringing safe, inclusive recess play to thousands of kids throughout the region.<\/p>\n

Corporate Kickball is an employee engagement event and fundraiser used to promote team building, networking and stress-free fun. <\/span><\/p>\n

Garrett Llewellyn of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP played in the last Playworks Corporate Kickball event. He said, “I look forward to the kickball tournament each year because it is fun, benefits a deserving charity, and provides an excuse for me and my colleagues to bond while demonstrating our lack of skill at kickball.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Local companies will join in on this day of friendly competition in an effort to raise funds in support of Playworks’ mission. Playworks hopes that each team member walks off the field with the memory of playing a great game for a great cause. Along with an increase in positive employee interaction, corporations will see firsthand how Playworks’ play can make a difference.<\/span><\/p>\n

Michelle Serrano, Associate Director from Playworks SoCal, said, “Teams come out expecting to represent their company in a fun tournament supporting a great cause but walk away with an unforgettable experience of team building and healthy competition, transformed from co-workers to teammates and most important, refreshed, exhilarated and ready to take on another work week.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The Playworks’ core values of respect, inclusion, community and positive play will be conveyed over the course of this tournament.
