Erica is a first year AmeriCorps coach at Bethesda Elementary School. She&#8217;s always optimistic and ever ready to pitch in when needed!<\/p>\n<p>Coach Savage is doing an excellent job with her program and involving the school community. Her recesses are filled with continuous &#8220;good job&#8221; and &#8220;nice try&#8221; cheers&#8211;a sure sign that she has been working extra hard to create a healthy community at recess. Along with rocking recess, she has been extremely diligent in recruiting and coaching a full team for both girls\u2019 basketball and co-ed volleyball. Coach Savage\u00a0also assisted in taking the lead in planning an amazing service project in March for her fellow AmeriCorps members.<\/p>\n<p>She has also gone above and beyond her duties by initiating the planning process for the spring Boys\u2019 Basketball Jamboree and helping lead her school&#8217;s faculty basketball team to a victory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">Erica has worked\u00a0extremely hard completing the monthly reflection series and attending all the community building events to bond with her AmeriCorps members.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">More than anything she is one of these greatest &#8220;4-pic-1-word&#8221; players of all time!<\/p>\n<p>So for this and so much more, we congratulate our March Coach of the\u00a0Month with a\u00a0<em><strong>Ballin\u2019 CLAP<\/strong><\/em>!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Get to Know Coach Savage<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\"><strong>Favorite Game:<\/strong> Dodge-ball and it&#8217;s many variations<br \/>\n<strong>Favorite Cheer:<\/strong> Why I ate the Pie!<br \/>\n<strong>Favorite thing about Durham: <\/strong>The culture<br \/>\n<strong>If you could have any superpower what would it be and why?<\/strong> To be super human (strength, healing, knowledge, etc).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Erica Savage is Playworks Durham\u2019s March Coach of the Month.
