{"id":46,"date":"2013-10-14T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-10-14T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.playworks.org\/pennsylvania\/2013\/10\/14\/meet-coach-mac\/"},"modified":"2018-11-29T16:39:02","modified_gmt":"2018-11-29T21:39:02","slug":"meet-coach-mac","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.playworks.org\/pennsylvania\/2013\/10\/14\/meet-coach-mac\/","title":{"rendered":"Meet Coach Mac"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-29d1467e-b83b-4735-51bb-e9eb792c0124\">Lauren McGuire, aka Coach Mac, is Playworks Pennsylvania\u2019s Coach of the Month. \u00a0She is a first year AmeriCorps coach at Kearny Elementary School. \u00a0Coach Mac has been incredibly consistent, organized, and committed during her first month of school. \u00a0She shows up to school everyday with a great attitude and is constantly evaluating her program in order to make improvements. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-29d1467e-b83b-4735-51bb-e9eb792c0124\">Kearny Elementary School is a 2nd year Playworks school. \u00a0The school is currently going through many changes. \u00a0There is a new principal, a new playground, and new additions to the building. \u00a0Coach Mac has quickly connected with school employees. \u00a0She has befriended many school staff and they are constantly working together to improve the school culture and the Plaworks program at Kearny. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Coach Mac is highly engaged with the Kearny Home and School Association. \u00a0She is working with school staff and parents to create a highly engaged and interactive parent volunteer group. \u00a0Recently, Coach Mac has begun to recruit and engage students in her after school clubs. \u00a0In addition to running after school clubs, Coach Mac is running a successful before school recess program where many of her students arrive early to engage in play. \u00a0The principal has already acknowledged the decrease in student tardiness at the school!<\/p>\n<p>Lauren is an avid lover of tyrannosaurus rexes, the University of Notre Dame, dogs, and awesome arts and crafts. \u00a0She loves the sunshine clap and has been known to lift very heavy things from time-to-time (former power-lifter).<\/p>\n<p>Coach Mac has been a great addition to the Playworks community and she is already making large impacts on her school community. \u00a0For all these reasons and more, Coach Mac is Playworks Pennsylvania\u2019s coach of the month!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lauren McGuire, aka Coach Mac, is Playworks Pennsylvania\u2019s Coach of the Month. \u00a0She is a first year AmeriCorps coach at Kearny Elementary School. \u00a0Coach Mac has been incredibly consistent, organized, [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":33,"featured_media":1325,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"region":[],"class_list":["post-46","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-updates"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.0 -
