{"id":2850,"date":"2019-01-30T11:00:49","date_gmt":"2019-01-30T19:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.playworks.org\/northern-california\/?p=2850"},"modified":"2025-02-21T11:59:32","modified_gmt":"2025-02-21T19:59:32","slug":"whats-your-playsolution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.playworks.org\/northern-california\/2019\/01\/30\/whats-your-playsolution\/","title":{"rendered":"What&#8217;s Your Playsolution?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Playworks San Francisco Advisory Board organized an amazing networking event on January 23.<\/p>\n<p>Hosted at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/company\/ohana-floors\/salesforce-east-sf\/\">Salesforce<\/a>, Playsolution 2019 was an evening to bring young professionals together, raise awareness about Playworks, and inspire guests to get more involved in the play movement!<\/p>\n<p>Guests were welcomed with drinks and appetizers with time to connect with one another. Then, everyone participated in a group game of Partner Challenge to facilitate sharing, connection, and reflection. We played Mingle, an icebreaker where individuals got to know one another through high fives, secret handshakes, sharing stories, and more! Discussions between partners\u2014whether &#8220;secret handshake&#8221; partners or &#8220;exploding fist bump&#8221; partners\u2014ranged from favorite childhood recess games to how recess could have been better.<\/p>\n<p>After the game, several representatives from Playworks brought the impact of our program to life.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Paul Collins<\/strong>, Playworks San Francisco Executive Director, spoke about the mission and vision of Playworks and why play is critical to youth development.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sophia Rutkin<\/strong>, Program Manager, shared a story about the Junior Coach Leadership Program empowering 4th and 5th graders to solve conflicts on the playground.<\/li>\n<li><strong>J.J.<\/strong>, Playworks Coach, inspired the audience with a story from the playground\u2014how play truly works for every kid.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Rebecca Goldberg<\/strong>, San Francisco Board Chair, shared how guests could get more involved and support Playworks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are so very grateful to all who chose to spend the evening with us and to the Advisory Board committee who planned and led this event.
