What began as a bike build for Jigsaw, a company recently required by Salesforce, turned into quite a treat for kids at Sunnybrae Elementary School in San Mateo, CA. Jigsaw’s offices are right around the corner from Sunnybrae. Employees were eager to work in another side of the community in which they work– 57% of Sunnybrae students qualify for free or reduced lunch. On Thursday, March 17 40 Sunnybrae students received bright new bikes built by Jigsaw corporate volunteers in partnership with the Salesforce Foundation.<\/p>\n
After a recess training and warm-up, the build began. In what was possibly the fastest build we have had yet, Jigsaw employees in teams of six cranked and pumped 40 bikes to life in just two hours!<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, San Francisco office all-stars Mary, Liz, Colleen, and Bill staged a recess overhaul on the playground at Sunnybrae. Children were given options of games to play with each Playworker and encouraged to use conflict resolution tools, like RoShamBo, throughout the day. By the end of recess, playground monitors were astonished at the amount of kids playing– Bill even had 200 elementary school students engaged in one massive game of cookie monster. <\/p>\n
