{"id":1968,"date":"2017-10-18T15:19:14","date_gmt":"2017-10-18T22:19:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.playworks.org\/northern-california\/?p=1968"},"modified":"2018-05-17T14:42:25","modified_gmt":"2018-05-17T21:42:25","slug":"10-year-anniversary-get-fit-hosted-javale-mcgee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.playworks.org\/northern-california\/2017\/10\/18\/10-year-anniversary-get-fit-hosted-javale-mcgee\/","title":{"rendered":"10 Year Anniversary of Get Fit hosted by JaVale McGee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In order to mark the 10-year anniversary milestone of the Get Fit initiative, Kaiser Permanente, Playworks, and the Warriors enlisted the help of Golden State Warriors center JaVale McGee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During Get Fit events, students in Playworks\u2019 partner schools take a \u201ctime-out\u201d to learn about healthy behavior\u2014and of course, play!\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the Get Fit 10th anniversary, McGee joined Playworks for basketball, yoga, and dance clinics at Futures Elementary School in Oakland. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The importance of physical fitness was the main focus of the day.
