About Get in the Game
Playworks Get in the Game is our fun and impactful series of signature fundraising events that transports guests to the playground cumulatively raising more than $5.2 million across the country for our critical programs.
Funds raised at the event will support the ability of Playworks New York / New Jersey to leverage play and recess to improve the social and emotional health of every girl and boy we serve. Locally, our programs serve over 125,000 kids at 250 schools across the region.
Playworks is the leading national nonprofit to leverage play in elementary schools to improve education — as a tool to build fundamental social and emotional skills such as self-regulation, conflict resolution, empathy, teamwork, and leadership, which help reduce bullying and are crucial for success in the classroom and throughout life. In partnership with teachers, principals, and parents, we build a culture of play that enables kids to feel a true sense of belonging and experience the opportunity to contribute on the playground, in the classroom, and in their communities. In the 2019-2020 school year, Playworks will reach over 1,000,000 students at 2,200 schools in 23 U.S. cities directly and through professional training services. We create a place for every kid on the playground to feel included, be active, and build valuable social and emotional skills.
