As a mother of &nbsp; two young girls, an Ellis Mendell Elementary School kindergartner and a one year old, Kristin believes in the power of play and the Playworks program. This is why she jumped at the opportunity to run the Boston Marathon in honor of Coach Gerardo and&nbsp;Playworks.<\/p>\n<p>Not only is Kristin running 26.2 miles she&rsquo;s also committed to raising $4,000 in support of Playworks, which reaches 14,000 students across Metro Boston.<\/p>\n<p>Kristen is a native of Framingham; she attended both Mass College of Art for photography and The School of the Museum of Fine Arts for design. She is a photographer, illustrator and graphic artist in a cancer research lab at Children&#39;s Hospital Boston, where she&rsquo;s worked for the past 16 years.<\/p>\n<p>Completing the Boston Marathon will fulfill a lifelong dream of Kristin&rsquo;s, and it will be that much sweeter knowing she&rsquo;s running in support of her daughter&rsquo;s education.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kristin Johnson is running 26.2 miles on behalf of Playworks Metro Boston.
