In many cases, the fear and stress caused by pandemic-related changes is dramatically increasing trauma for children and the adults who care for them. After months of physical and social isolation, stress and uncertainty, parents and experts are calling out the critical need for kids to play, feel connected and included.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.playworks.org\/news\/play-builds-serious-skills\/\"><span style=\"color: #438bc5;\"><strong>Play is how children relieve stress, build resilience, feel control over their own lives, and become competent in pursuit of their own interests.<\/strong><\/span><\/a> However, with the ever-growing number of demands on educators\u2019 time and resources, many have struggled to incorporate play in the virtual or socially distanced learning environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4776 \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recognizing this urgent need and informed by Principal, teacher, and parent input, Playworks developed a new virtual subscription service, called <span style=\"color: #438bc5;\"><strong>Keep Playing<\/strong><\/span>, that takes the guesswork out of bringing play to every child\u2019s day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" weekly email with:<\/span><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Game of the Week with modifications for COVID considerations, academic applications, and crucial skills<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Minute Mover or Brain Break to help kids release energy and refocus on academics<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Blogs that highlight key topics pertinent to the new school landscape<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additional resources linked for further learning opportunities<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the uncertainty of changing learning models continues, Playworks is happy to offer a resource providing consistency across remote learning and in-person learning days, weeks, and months.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #8b3e7f;\"><strong>Halfway through the year, the results are impressive!<\/strong> <\/span>Over 90% of educators who responded to a survey about Keep Playing said the games and ideas help get students moving and help students feel connected to class.<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
