While programming certainly looks different this year, the <span style=\"color: #438bc5;\"><strong>smiles, laughs, and joy<\/strong><\/span> that have always been constants on Playworks playgrounds continue to shine (even on Zoom).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-size--medium\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our Americorps Coaches and Site Coordinators in Boston, Lawrence, and Cambridge have been <strong><span style=\"color: #438bc5;\"><a style=\"color: #438bc5;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.playworks.org\/new-england\/2021\/02\/03\/2020-21-mid-year-report-innovating-for-virtual-play\/\">hard at work adapting our 25 years of play expertise to the world of virtual learning<\/a><\/span><\/strong>. As we navigate hybrid and remote learning alongside our school partners, we\u2019ve been able to bring consistent opportunities for safe and healthy play to our 23 Coach and Team Up partner schools.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-size--medium\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4759 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.playworks.org\/new-england\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2021\/02\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-02-at-1.53.17-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1256\" height=\"438\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-size--medium\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #438bc5;\"><strong>&#8220;I&#8217;m so thankful that this impact can still be realized in the virtual learning con<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #1a2845;\"><span style=\"color: #438bc5;\"><strong>text.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span> Coach Shelby has worked to facilitate games and activities that are engaging and accessible to all students, and <span style=\"color: #438bc5;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #438bc5;\"><a style=\"color: #438bc5;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.playworks.org\/new-england\/2021\/02\/03\/playworks-coach-of-the-month-shelby-obert\/\">it truly makes a difference at a time when school continues to feel unsettling for many<\/a><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/span>\u00a0 I try to intentionally build community with my students throughout the week, and Class Game Time with Coach Shelby is an important part of that process,\u201d says Mr. Wilburn, a 3rd grade teacher at the Henry Grew School in Hyde Park. <\/span><\/p>\n<h5 class=\"font-size--medium font-weight--regular\"><span style=\"color: #438bc5;\"><strong>\u201cFor some students, Class Game Time is when I see their highest rate of participation.<\/strong> Class Game Time is definitely a highlight of my week, and many of my students!&#8221;<\/span><\/h5>\n<p class=\"font-size--medium\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #8b3e7f;\"><strong>Wondering what a day in the life of a virtual coach actually
