Through this partnership, Playworks Massachusetts will receive a full-time fellow for the 2016 fall semester. With the help of the College for Social Innovation, Playworks Massachusetts will be able to increase organizational capacity, build our network, develop our talent strategy, and help transform the social sector.<\/p>\n<p>This fall, our Social Innovation Fellow is Markiesha Duverneau. Markiesha is currently a senior at Clark University&nbsp;with&nbsp;an immense passion for the greater community and&nbsp;a dream to start her own nonprofit in the future. Karleen Herbst, Playworks Massachusetts&#39; current Development Manager,&nbsp;will serve as Markiesha&#39;s mentor throughout her fellowship, helping Markiesha with her career aspirations and Playworks projects.<\/p>\n<p>During her fellowship, Markiesha will be focusing on our local social media strategy. She will be helping spread awareness of Playworks through our current social media platforms, as well as expand our social media reach to new platforms. We look forward to working with Markiesha over the course of the semester to use social media to help our organization reach our <a href=\"http:\/\/playworks-aim.squarespace.com\/play-movement-ma\" target=\"_blank\">new aim<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>About the College for Social Innovation:<\/p>\n<p>The College for Social Innovation (CfSI)&nbsp;brings together colleges and social sector organizations to create fully credited hands-on learning experiences that are meaningful, accessible, and life-changing. The College for&nbsp;Social Innovation Fellows will be college undergraduates placed with social sector organizations.&nbsp;Fellows will receive intensive training and support prior to and throughout their Fellowships.<\/p>\n<p>Fellows will receive a full semester of graded credits for their participation in the program. Although Fellows will not be paid, they will not incur costs beyond their normal tuition and room and board while receiving regular financial aid from their home institutions. CfSI is committed to ensuring that at least 50% of each cohort are Pell eligible, first generation college students, and\/or students of color.
